Warry's Bakery

Davies Associates acted as Employer’s Agent for the construction of 20 new dwellings on the site of the old Warry’s Bakery in St Peter Port for Guernsey Housing Association. The project included the demolition of the old bakery buildings as part of an enabling works contract.

The site had a number of challenges to overcome including the presence of asbestos, historic wells and the close proximity of residential neighbours.

To meet the client’s stringent sustainability criteria, the units were constructed using highly insulated ‘SIPS’ panels and incorporated solar panels to provide hot water to all of the houses.

The project was completed in June 2018 and all units are now occupied.
