Davies Associates acted as both Contract Administrator and Quantity Surveyor for the construction of 6 flats and 3 houses for this development for Guernsey Housing Association. Located in a rural part of St Saviour’s, the site formerly housed two underground German bunkers and a command centre prior to the development, with one of the bunkers retained and used as the foundations for the houses.

Due to the historic underground features of the site, the project faced numerous challenges throughout its duration as the full extent of the historic bunker was revealed. Davies Associates worked closely with both the structural engineer and architect to ensure that any variations to the contract provided best value to the client, whilst not compromising the design of the properties.

The completed development was in high demand and the mixture of partial ownership and rented properties are all now occupied. The project was completed in January 2019.
